EmbraceMini is Unresponsive

If EmbraceMini is unresponsive (the LED does not light up when pressing the front button), follow the steps below to resolve the issue.

Check first

  • Press the front button deliberately, in the center. A light or glancing touch may not register. Press once, firmly, and wait a moment for the LED to respond.
  • Check that nothing is covering the button. Make sure the strap, a sleeve, or any debris is not sitting over the front button.
  • Consider that the device may simply be out of battery. When EmbraceMini runs out of battery it turns off, the LED stays off, and data recording stops. This is the most common reason for an unresponsive device.

Charge and reboot EmbraceMini

Note that the problem may get resolved at any point in the procedure:

  1. Place EmbraceMini on the cable charger and let it charge for 5 minutes. The front LED will start glowing white.
If the LED does not glow white at all, see EmbraceMini is not charging.
  2. Briefly press the front button to check whether the device responds.
  3. If it is still unresponsive, reboot EmbraceMini: press and hold the front button for at least 15 seconds. The front LED will flash, and you should see it briefly glow white, confirming the reboot.
  4. Leave EmbraceMini on the charger and nearby, then attempt pairing again if the device had been unpaired.

If the LED responds but the Care Lab App shows EmbraceMini as disconnected, the device is working and the problem is with the Bluetooth connection instead. See EmbraceMini Bluetooth disconnections.
