EmbraceMini LED Colors and Patterns

EmbraceMini does not have a display. Instead, it communicates its status through a single multicolor LED behind the front button. This article lists every LED behaviour and what it means.

To check the status at any time, briefly press the front button and watch the LED.

The examples below are approximations of the color and rhythm of each pattern, shown for reference. The important difference between patterns is usually the color and whether the LED blinks slowly or quickly.

Starting up and pairing

Pattern What it means
Off The device is off.
Glows up from dark to white The device is waking up from sleep or from being switched off. It then enters pairing mode automatically.
Blinking blue slowly The device is in pairing mode and ready to be paired. Briefly press the front button to send a pairing request.
Blinking blue quickly A pairing request has been sent. Confirm the pairing in the Care Lab App.

Pattern What it means

Taking the device off the charger

Pattern What it means
Solid green for about a second Everything is in order and recording resumes. The device is ready to be worn.
Three quick white blinks, then blinking orange quickly The device is not recording. This is expected if it has not been paired yet. If it has been paired, see the troubleshooting article below.
Three slow orange blinks The battery is still low. Put the device back on the charger for longer.

During use

While EmbraceMini is recording normally, the LED stays off. Briefly press the front button to check the status:

Pattern What it means
Solid green for about a second All good; the device is recording.
Alternating blue and orange, three times There is no active Bluetooth connection to the companion device. Data is stored on the device until it reconnects.
Three slow orange blinks The battery is low. Charge the device soon.

→ EmbraceMini Bluetooth disconnections

Warnings that repeat on their own

These patterns continue until the situation is resolved, without you pressing the button:

Pattern What it means
Blinking orange slowly, continuously The battery is critically low and the device is about to turn off. Charge it now. A short press of the front button dismisses the warning.
Three quick orange blinks, repeating The device has stopped recording. This can happen if the internal memory is full or if the device no longer has a valid internal timestamp. Reconnect the device to the Care Lab App for more information.
Off, and not responding to the button The device is out of battery and has turned off. Recording has stopped.

→ EmbraceMini is not recording data
→ EmbraceMini Bluetooth disconnections
→ EmbraceMini is unresponsive

Tagging an event

Three quick white blinks An event tag has been created. This happens when the front button is held for about two seconds during use.

→ Tagging events with EmbraceMini

Logging out and syncing data

Alternating blue and white The device is syncing data to the Care Lab App as part of the logout process. Keep the device near the phone until the sync completes.
